Sita Mani is a Performing Artist, Movement Teacher,Coach and Bodyworker. She is a founding faculty member of The Studio New York and is also currently on faculty in the Graduate Acting Program at Columbia University School Of The Arts and at HB Studio. She has been guest faculty at The Actors Center, The New School, Mark Morris Dance School, Feldenkrais Institute,Scott Freeman Studio and CRS Studio in New York.In India she has been a guest artist at The Shiamak Davar Institute Of Performing Arts, Durga Das Foundation, Bahujan Hitay Project and Akanksha. A Dharma Artist since Dharma Road’s inception, her original works have been shown at The First Asian American Theater Festival in New York, BAX, Evolving Arts Theater, Interboro Repertory Theater, Riverside Church, and One Arm Red.She was an Artist in residence at Herbert Berghof Studio in 2015. Sita has performed Off-Broadway in THE LITTLE CLAY CART and has worked with Sanza Nemo Collective, Impact Theater, Theater In The Flesh, Kathak Ensemble, Compagnie Choreographique De Rennes, Compagnie Piedo, Memento Dance Company, Shiamak Davar Dance Company, and a number of independent choreographers and directors from India, Europe, South America and the USA. She is a graduate of The Actors Center Teacher Development Program,has attended Carol Rosenfeld’s Hagen Teacher Training and the Michael Howard Studio for acting.She received her dance certification at Alvin Ailey American Dance Center in New York and has trained at The School Of Classical Ballet and Western Dance and SD Institute Of Performing Arts in Mumbai. She is a Guild Certified Feldenkrais Practitioner, Licensed Massage Therapist, Shiatsu Practitioner, and Reiki Practitioner.She has studied Tae Kwon Do, Aerial Arts, Yoga, Alexander Technique and apprenticed as a Teaching Assistant for The Lucid Body Technique at The Yale School of Drama, Marymount Manhattan College and Michael Howard Studio.
